Ostrich burying face in hole...hiding, pretending not to see what's going on in the real world. A lot of people have attitudes like that - but the best and healthiest thing is to face problems and understand our difficulties face to face. It's no use hiding from problems because they don't disappear, sooner or later the problem comes to you! Think about it and don't hide, face it!

This painting of mine hangs above my computer desk, and I love it! Anyways, I thought you all might like to enjoy it as well. I painted it in acrylics a few years ago. It was inspired by a visit to Australia Zoo when our children were much younger and this emu peaked over their enclosure fence. So curious. I didn't trust him to not peck me though. To fit the image nicely on the device cases I cropped the image a little. Check out the greeting cards to find it there also.

*One day driving around Biggenden in Queensland, I was looking for subject matter to paint and was lucky enough to see these Emus. just had to paint them!* *Gouache on Archers Paper - 46cm x 61cm - SOLD.*

The Great Emu War was an unsuccessful 1932 military operation undertaken in Western Australia. Soldiers were armed with Lewis machine guns in an attempt to curb the population of the emus, but while a number of the birds were killed, the emus proved too smart and agile for the humans, and the birds emerged victorious. Emus remain plentiful in the areas outside of Perth to this day.
