Fingal Number of views as of 11th June 2018 = 2460. Fingal is a North American Otter. I would love to be able to report that I took this shot on a Scottish loch somewhere. Well, that's almost true. His home is the Scottish Sealife Sanctuary on Loch Creran on the West Coast of Scotland. The sanctuary's main work is the rescue and repatriation of seal pups, abandoned by their mothers around Scotland's extensive coastline. There is also a well-stocked aquarium and the Otter sanctuary there. Sadly, Fingal's sister and companion Sula died last winter, so he's all alone now (sob), apart from thousands of adoring visitors that is. The Milky Way stretches across the sky above the Fingal Head lighthouse in northern New South Wales. We were lucky to be able to see the Milky Way at all, since it was intermittently raining in between patches of completely clear skies.

We went to Fingal Head (on the Tweed River in northern New South Wales) to take full moon seascapes. We ended up getting some impressive storm shots instead. Luckily the rain was south of us so we didn't get soaked as well!
