I got very lucky to be in the right place at the right time when I saw lenticular clouds started forming in the sky!

Flanked by a couple of rather mean looking rabbits, a fox and a small shadowy bear sit silently below a pair of stern critical eyes with very small cheerleaders hiding in the bushy eyebrows. I said there would be more of these. ;) This was taken on the penultimate evening of our stay on the Isle Of Skye, in Scotland. The clouds on Skye seem never ending and continuously changing. We watched these altocumulus clouds for over an hour, as they morphed from long cigar shapes to lenticular, flying saucer shapes. This was one of the few times we could see the tops of all the Cuillin mountain range across Loch Eishort. It was a fascinating evening.

I ventured down to Church Island (Ynys Tsilio). There was a bitingly cold wind but the evening light was subtle and the tide was just right ~ not too high and not too low... I set up tripod on the rocks and got a shutter metering from my camera... I then added a new filter another ten stop which gave me around 6 seconds via a remote shutter - to create this image... It seemed rather flat, but a good quality of light. After some thought, I decided to work on this in post using Lightroom, to add depth and texture to this iconic landscape and engineered setting... that is "Menai Bridge".
