Their shape, their weight, their endless colours and differences, their shininess and the pleasure of ownership that is the essence of the game of marbles... as an adult I find them no less appealing. Mixing some geometric patterns that I enjoy with my own doodled patterns and pretty colors and gradients.

It has actually been raining in my garden all day - so lovely and so needed. This pattern was created from a single, hand drawn, ink doodle.

Another pattern of mine. This is one of three colorways.

You can't live in a house full of little children, Lego, toys & toddlers without a bit of colour trying to sneak into almost everything you do. Sometimes I give up and just let the colour take over completely, helpless to resist ...

This pattern took me ages, long enough to make me wonder what I was thinking even starting on such an ambitious (for me) project. But my garden is full of proteas, and they are so lovely, I find their shapes and colors endlessly inspiring, so it had to be done. I couldn't ignore them anymore. : )

When life gives you lemons...

Every time I walk out of my front door the fuchsias that grow there whisper and beckon, telling me to paint them, draw them, photograph them ... Maybe now they'll stop nagging and let me come and go in peace. This is a second colour version.

I just want to play with colour and pattern for a while. (Of course, that is what I always do, but sometimes I feel I end up taking myself too seriously.... this is me, just enjoying pink. I think it is important to enjoy pink from time to time.) ☺

I've been working on this pattern for the last few days, a simple floral in purple. I like irises, they're so floppy and delicate and yet sculptural and structured at the same time. This is one of two colorways.
