A summer evening and the last rays of the sun light up the cliffs at Nash Point, South Wales. This is part of the Monknash Coast in the Vale of Glamorgan district of South Wales, forming part of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. These towering limestone Jurassic cliffs are rich in fossils such as ammonites. Under the sea lie centuries of shipwrecks - resulting in the Nash Point Lighthouse built in 1832. Finished as pastel art.

The two towers were built in 1831-2, a low one in the west and a higher one on the eastern end of the complex to warn shipping of the dangerous Nash Sands below. Both worked together until 1920 when the low tower was decommissioned, the eastern lighthouse then doing both tasks. It was manned until 1998 when it became automatic.
