Created for a friend with a Groundhog Day birthday. The original artwork is a linocut comprised of several different colored blocks. The idea is based on the face cards in a deck of playing cards, and signifies the changing of the seasons. The blue night sky half symbolizes autumn, with the constellation Orion overhead and the groundhog holds ripe wheat stalks. The green half symbolizes spring and the groundhog holds a dandelion gone to seed. Across the groundhogs' belly are the phases of the moon.
