This is a restored copy of an original poster created by the WPA in approximately 1941 to spread public awareness of syphilis and the symptoms it can cause. During this time, the war was just getting started and many soldiers were coming and going to the warfronts around the world. With this increase in movement, sexually transmitted diseases also began to increase. Many states began to produce posters in order to make the public more aware of the disease as well as symptoms it had.

During the 1930s and 1940s artists, musicians, and other creative arts professionals were recruited by the United States WPA program to illustrate posters for events in various cities. Posters also advertised public health concerns, wartime propaganda, preserving nature and many more topics. 1937.

This is a like-new reproduction of the original WPA poster advertising a father and son banquet. This was sponsored by the Chicago Urban League was held at the Savoy Ballroom. This is a great piece of history as artists, musicians and the community rallied together during The Great Depression to encourage events, travel and additional places, etc. to help bring the economy to a better place.

This is a great digitally restored vintage WPA Poster completed by John Mc Crady during the 1930's. This propaganda poster suggests that US citizens purchase war stamps and bonds to help the soldiers overseas. This would make a great piece for the historical collector or World War II enthusiast. There is also a higher contrast version available in the shop, should you want bolder colors than this.

This is a beautifully restored digital copy of an original WPA poster created by Katherine Milhous during the 1930s. The poster shows the Old Swedes Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a part of the United States' WPA Federal Art Project, which employed artists, singers and other creative professions to help boost the economy during The Great Depression.
