Inspired by paternal family history with all shades of belief, fact and down right unsubstantiated stories, perhaps we all have a claim to some " gypsy royalty " in our bloodline. Made outside in the pouring rain utilising paints, ink and different media - part of the " Art in the rain " series. Taken and adapted digitally from a photograph of the original work by the British artist Tony Broadbent these images done in my style are now placed as new works in a modern idiom and are available on a multitude of Redbubble products. A wonderfully over the top, layered, highly decorative, folkloric pattern influenced by the beautiful and inspiring costumes of so many ethnic cultures from Romany to Ancient Chinese, as well as the crazy quilts of the Victorian era. An homage to all! Created from 7 other of my, originally, hand painted in watercolour textile patterns. Perfect to mix and match with them all!
