The Phil Silvers – Sgt. Bilko Design celebrates one of the very best American sitcoms and the comedy genius of Phil Silvers. Phil Silvers starred as Sgt. Ernest G. Bilko in the long running CBS comedy The Phil Silvers Show. Set in Fort Baxter, a fictional Army post in Roseville, Kansas, the show centred around the soldiers of the Forts Motor Pool and their wiley Master Sergeant Bilko.

Lakeville Motor Express (LME) was founded in Roseville, Minnesota in 1921 by Vincent Wren. The LTL freight carrier served ten states in the Midwest. In 1979, Vincent handed management of the company to his oldest son, John, who later became full owner by buying out his two brothers. John continued to operate the company as a family business until the late 2000s. One key aspect of LME's strategy in the late '90s was a robust interline relationship with other regional carriers. Known as ExpressLink, the partnership cooperated in transferring shipments between each of their areas of focus, effectively extending each company's range. LME ceased operations in November 2016 and filed for bankruptcy protection in January 2017.

The company began as Old Dutch Products Co. founded by Carl J. Marx in 1934. Marx chose the name "Old Dutch" because Dutch was associated with cleanliness and quality. They originated in St. Paul, Minnesota, but moved to Minneapolis in 1937. In 1968, they moved again, this time to Roseville, Minnesota, where they remain today. In 1954, Old Dutch opened a plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to manufacture chips for the Canadian market. The head office for Canadian operations remains in Winnipeg.
