Toes Beach Jetty Surf Mugs

Toes Beach Jetty in Playa del Rey (PDR to locals) is the northernmost end of Playa del Rey. The beach was named by a group of local surfers one summer day circa 1961 as "Toes Over Beach," "Toes Beach" or just "Toes”, a name derived from the "toes over," "toes over the nose" or the Hang Ten surfing maneuver. Back in the 1950’s and early 1960’s, Playa del Rey, California was known as a great surf spot. The northernmost end of Playa del Rey was coined "Toes Over Beach" ("Toes Beach" or just "Toes" for short) by local surfers, in reference to the iconic "hang ten" foot positioning.
