Still life with bicycle Phone Case

Sitting in a cafe in Amsterdam, I contemplated the creative connection between cafes, coffee and cycling. Cyclists have long congregated at the 'cafe stop' before and after a club run. Now the urban cyclists cafe is a rapid growing trend, a hybrid place where couriers and commuters hang out. More than just a coffee shop, its a meeting space for riders. I use Winsor and Newton professional acrylics and glazes and the painting has a high gloss, deep lustrous surface. The edges of the canvas are painted and glazed to enable the artwork to be displayed with or without a frame.
