The following are a series of images of the circuit board of one my synthesizers - it is the vintage Roland JD-800 (I call this one The Mothership), one of about 14 different synthesizers, organs and pianos I have in my music studio. I usually like to take these things apart and marvel at the science behind making these intricate sounds that you hear in the 60's, 70's and 80's music. What I like about this specific machine is its ability to program sounds in analogue and transform/save the results in digital. Truly a versatile stage keyboard. Resistors. View of a series of resistors for use on electronic circuit boards. A resistor is a device used to impede the flow of electricity in a particular area. The coloured rings around the resistors are a code showing the amount of resistance the resistor has. Resistors arrive in this form at factories which make circuit boards. On the finished circuit, each resistor's metal ends are soldered to the board.
