Felucca Phone Cases - iPhone and Android

The felucca is a traditional wooden lateen-sailed vessel which is common to the eastern Mediterranean area and particularly on the River Nile. Once the main vessel for trading it is now largely used for tourists as a ferry and as a means of exploring the Nile. Feluccas are most usually seen in the stretch of river between Luxor and Aswan - where this image was captured. The picture has been textured to give an impressionist feel. Nikon D200 Nikkor 18-200

A rather loaded felucca being pulled along the shoreline of one of the islands in the River Nile between Aswan and Luxor. These islands are very fertile agricultural land in contrast to the surrounding desert. Very possibly the men in the boat are being ferried to work! The Nile has been the lifeblood of Egypt for thousands of years enabling the ancient Egyptian civilisation to flourish. This image has been given a chalk pastel finish - developed from my original photograph.
