I walked alone through Hull, the city on the edge of my childhood world. As years pass, the cityscape changes, ebbs, decays and regrows. Yet Hull always takes me back in time and place to the earliest years of my life. I love to explore, to reaffirm and to day dream. An earliest memory is of seeing derelict buildings that seemed to be returning to nature, with tree branches growing through roofs and windows. I saw this now empty pub, shuttered and probably lost, and decided to paint it. I used collage, thick paint and vivid colour, and I wanted to capture the bright light and vivid hues. The work is an ideal and unique souvenir of Hull, a perfect gift too.

Old San Juan is my favorite place in Puerto Rico. I love wandering around the centuries old buildings and shops. This is an abstract digital conceptualization of the buildings with lots of my own embellishments. The scene was painted using Procreate 5.

I discovered this barn during a garden tour around Creemore in Central Ontario. I thought it had a lot of character with the weathered doors as it sat at the edge of the garden. Could I make an interesting images with this scene? I settled on this approach as a black and white to emphasize the textures. What's behind the doors? Various antique garden tools? Perhaps an old tractor or car? What would be your great barn find of your dreams? The tree and vines over the doors reminds me of a timeless summer day in the garden.
