Apollo 12 launch rehearsal. Night-time view of Pad A, Launch Complex 39, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), showing the Apollo 12 rocket (Saturn V) and its spacecraft payload during the terminal phase of a Countdown Demonstration Test (CDDT). The launch took place 17 days later. Apollo 12 took place from 14-24 November 1969. It was the second manned mission to land on the Moon, with Charles 'Pete' Conrad and Alan Bean descending to the lunar surface on 19 November 1969. The third crew member, Richard Gordon, remained in lunar orbit in the command module. Photographed on 28 October 1969, at the KSC, Florida, USA.
