On 19 April 1968, the 2nd Battalion of the 138th was deployed to Vietnam to provide fire support to the 101st Airborne Division in northern South Vietnam. On 19 June 1969, their firebase, Firebase Tomahawk, was attacked by the North Vietnamese Army 4th Regiment. The attack was repulsed, with the 138th suffering 9 casualties, and the North Vietnamese suffering 23

The 87th Armored Field Artillery Battalion (AFAB) landed on Utah Beach on D+3 and was immediately committed, supporting the 101st Airborne north of Carentan from June 10-13 and later the 82nd Airborne near St. Lo from June 14- July 7.They were equipped with self-propelled 105mm HowitzersAn independent battalion, it supported the 3rd Armored Division extensively, from the fall of St. Lo through the Falaise Gap, and the 4th Cavalry Group in the fall of 44. On 6 January 1941 the 201st Infantry was inducted into federal service at Morgantown, West Virginia Following the war’s end the 201st reverted to state control where it was reorganized and redesignated as the 201st Field Artillery Battalion.
