Camp Eagle (also known as LZ El Paso and LZ Tombstone) is a former US Army base south-east of Huế in central Vietnam. 1968 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne bunker, 6 March 1968 The base was originally established by the 1st Cavalry Division in January 1968, 7 km southeast of Huế and 9 km west of Phu Bai Combat Base. From February–August 1968, the 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division (February–August 1968) comprising 1st Battalion, 505th Infantry  2nd Battalion, 505th Infantry 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry  was based here to support post-Tet Offensive operations.

Activated 15 August 1942 at Camp C;aiborne, Louisana and assigned to 101st Airborne Division. The Regiment then moved to Fort Bragg, NC on 1 October 1942. Thje regiment then staged at Camp Shanks NY and departed 5 September 1943, arrived in England 19 Oct 1943. Assault the Normandy breach in June 1944. The onSeptember 1944 assaulted Nijmegen Holland. Returned to France 28 November 1944, disbanded on 1 MArch 1945. The glidermen were assigned to the 327th Glider Infantry. Campaigns: Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe

"The first of the Indian Wars in Connecticut was the Pequot War which began in May 1639, in a swamp flat which is now in the village of Southport in the Town of Fairfield. There were at the time in the Housatonic River Valley from Long Island Sound Northward, between two and three thousand Indians.

The 61st Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment of the United States Army traditionally associated with the 5th Infantry Division The regiment's campaign honors include Vietnam War. Where it took part in Operation Montana Mauler on the Khe Sanh plateau in 1969, and the United States invasion of Panama in 1989. The 1st Battalion of the 61st Infantry Regiment is one of the Basic Combat Training (BCT) units within the US Army. The 61st "Roadrunners" are located in Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

The 149th Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the United States Army, provided by the Kentucky Army National Guard. It was originally constituted 22 May 1846 in the Kentucky Militia as the 1st Kentucky Cavalry and the 2d Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. After a year of Federal service (June 1846 to June 1847), it was reorganized on 15 June 1860 in the Kentucky State Guard as the Lexington Battalion (which included the Lexington Rifles). It was then expanded in November 1860 to comprise the Lexington Battalion and the Kentucky River Battalion. The Lexington and Kentucky River Battalions, antecedents to the 149th Infantry, are especially notable in military history.
