Beachy Head Lighthouse, East Sussex, taken from the cliffs above. HDR created from one RAW file processed as three DNG files in Photomatix, adjustments in CS6 with some help from Topaz Filters. Nikon D7100 with Tamron 18-270 zoom.

The Lighthouse at Beachy Head, East Sussex, England. It is said that as early as 1670 a light shone to guide passing vessels from the top of the cliffs at Beachy Head, the 90 metres high seaward termination of the Sussex Downs. In 1828 James Walker erected Belle Toute Lighthouse, a 14 metre high circular tower, on the headland. This remained in operation till 1899 when it was abandoned due to being frequently shrouded in mist and threatened with collapse because of recurrent falls of chalk from the cliff. In 1902 under the direction of Sir Thomas Matthews, the Trinity House Engineer-in-Chief, the present lighthouse was brought into service, sited about 165 metres seawards from the base of the cliffs. This is a view of the cliffs at Beachy Head, Eastbourne, East Sussex taken at sunrise (around 7.30am) on 2 January 2010. Taken using a Canon EOS400 DSLR camera with the kit Canon lens 18-55mm.

Royal AIr Force Hurricane P3700 coded RF-E tustles with a Luftwaffe BF 109 over Southern England. Sgt Kazimierz Wunsche bailed out over Poynings, Kent on 9th September 1940 after sustaining damage from a Bf 109 during combat over Beachy Head.

This is taken with my back to Beachy Head looking towards Belle Tout Lighthouse and Birling Gap in Eastbourne, East Sussex. I went out to take photos of the sunrise, got there a bit early and got this shot of the (almost) full moon first! Taken on a Canon EOS400 DSLR camera with the Canon 18-55mm kit lens.
