Park Road View - Cedar Breaks - Utah by Debra Martz Thank goodness for wide spots in the road! We were driving along the Park Road in Cedar Breaks National Park, between overlooks, when this scene came into view! I loved the yellows and greens along the edge leading to the orange and reds of the earth below and the mountains fading off in the distance. Western View from Brian Head Peak - Cedar Breaks - Utah It seemed the views were never ending from Brian Head Peak in Cedar Breaks National Monument. At an elevation of 11,307 you can see for miles and miles and miles. This point of view is from the western edge of the peak with part of the Dixie National Forest just below to the right and Bryce Canyon in the far distance on the horizon to the left. North View Overlook - Cedar Breaks - Utah by Debra Martz I had no idea what to expect when arriving at Cedar Breaks...just that it was a National Monument and within fairly close proximity to Zion National Park which was what brought us to the area. Firstly, the drive along hwy 14 was impressive with the climb in elevation and passing by old lava flows! But to arrive at the visitors center and walk out to the overlook at an elevation of 10,350 ft and see a huge amphitheater somewhat similar to Bryce Canyon National Park was a complete surprise. Window View - CCC Lookout- Cedar Breaks - Utah by Debra Martz From the signage: "Brian Head Peak. Elevation 11,307 Feet. The structure before you was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). From this location you can see parts of Utah, Nevada and Arizona. Renovation project conducted by the 1995 Siearra Club Southwest Service Trip." The views from this lookout were expansive and beautiful!!
