One of the domes in Chora Church, with a beautiful mosaic of Jesus Christ ("Pantokrator"), Istanbul, Turkey. Chora church (Turkish: Kariye Müzesi, Kariye Camii, or Kariye Kilisesi — the Chora Museum, Mosque or Church) is probably one of the most beautiful museums of Istanbul. It's relatively difficult to find, compared to marvels such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi palace, the Basilica Cistern, that are very close the one to the other, but it's an absolute "must see"!!! It's mostly famous for its fantastics mosaics, like this one of Jesus Christ - Pantokrator (considered the best sample of late Byzantine art, also know as "The Palaeologian Renaissance")") but you can also see some fantastic frescoes.

One of the popular trails in Valley Of Fire State Park, Nevada, White Domes Trail is fairly moderate. This descent looks steep, but is easy. The ascent, back to the parking lot, is gradual. Make sure to take some water in the summer, this is the desert after all.

His design included three domes to open to the public in this order: The “show” dome featuring seasonal plants and special exhibitions in 1965; The tropical dome in 1966; and The arid (or desert) dome in 1967. To this day, many consider the three domed structures to be the gem of Milwaukee’s public parks system. The Lost City of Atlantis is one of the most famous and well-known mythical cities. It is said to have been a prosperous and advanced society that was destroyed by a natural disaster. For centuries, people have speculated about its location and whether or not it actually existed. Some believe that it was located in the Atlantic Ocean, while others believe it was in the Mediterranean Sea. Many people have searched for the lost city, but no one has been able to find it. The air domes and unknown structures in this picture could be the remains of the lost city of Atlantis.

Capitol Reef National Park is in Utah's south-central desert. It surrounds a long wrinkle in the earth known as the Waterpocket Fold, with layers of golden sandstone, canyons and striking rock formations. Among the park's sights are the Chimney Rock pillar, the Hickman Bridge arch, and Capitol Reef, known for its white sandstone domes. In the north are the towering monoliths of Cathedral Valley.

The elegant and stunning classical architecture of Venice seen through an archway not far from the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. Venice is the capital of the Veneto region of Italy which developed into a city state between the C9th and C12th. It became a major and rich trading city and also developed as a centre for the arts and culture. Digital art developed from my original photograph.

This impressive building was built as the mausoleum for the Persian mystic Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, completed in 1274. However further additions to the building were made until 1854. It is also famed as the former home to the Whirling Dervishes. It became a museum in 1927.

The French Institute, created in 1795, brought together five of France’s academies of arts and sciences. The most famous of these is the Académie Française (French Academy), founded in 1635 by Cardinal Richelieu. Its 40 members, known as the Immortels (Immortals), have the Herculean (some say impossible) task of safeguarding the purity of the French language. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. The largest mosque in the country, and the 3rd largest in the world.It is the key place of worship for daily prayers, Friday gathering and Eid prayer. It is built as a monument to consolidate Islamic culture and a prominent centre for Islamic sciences and opened for prayers in 2007. There are in total ‎82 domes of seven different sizes. The larges has height‎ of ‎85 metres .Minaret height‎: ‎107 metres. The modern mosque, even for a non-believer, is worthy of a visit as a place of contemplation. The complex with its many arches, water features and huge open court-yards is best visited at dusk.
