Beach huts along the promenade.

The sculpture of Tommy 1101 a First World War soldier, sits, head bowed on the seafront of Seaham Harbour. Before him, is a large poppy made from pebbles taken from the local beach and painted by children. Here the image has been converted to black and white and the colour re-introduced to the pebbles to show the effect of the poppy. This is the poppy for the 100 year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice. Canon 5D Mk3 24-105 l series lens

The sun peeks over the horizon and the Tasman Sea, as seen from Bicheno on Tasmania's east coast. The rocks in the foreground are orange from the lichen that occurs all along the east coast.

Devon's Finest - Beer The shingle beach in the village of Beer (East Devon, England). The village takes it name not from the local tipple, but from the Anglo-Saxon word 'bearu' (meaning grove, in reference to the forested area which once surrounded the village). The beach and cliffs here form part of southern England's 95 mile Jurassic Coast which stretches from Studland Bay in Dorset to Exmouth in Devon. As with many coastal villages in this part of the world, Beer has a smuggling past, with contraband including brandy, tea, tobacco and silk. Date: 30th April 2016.

*Stonebarrow Hill & The Golden Cap, September 2021* From this viewpoint along East Beach, Charmouth, you might think that Stonebarrow Hill (left) is the highest point on England's coast hereabouts, but you'd be wrong because that honour belongs to the Golden Cap (right), at 627 feet, the highest point along Dorset's Jurassic Coast. Date: 22nd September 2021.

How lucky was it that my first photo of the night also had the brightest shooting star of the night? The skies over Bicheno on Tassie's east coast left me completely in awe.

Two riders exercising their horses on a beach. The beach could be anywhere but it just so happens that it was Faristhorphe Beach on the East Coast of England. Taken in the summer of 2017. A single frame was processed initially in Affinity Photo on my iPad pro, the RAW file was developed so that the back ground disappeared and left only a hint of the beach in the foreground that helps to keep some context. The saturation was then reduced to zero and the contrast adjusted along with the shadows and highlights. The Affinity file was then transferred to Photoshop using Affinity Photo for Windows and the final touching up carried out in Photoshop. Taken on a Canon 70D EF-S 55-250 mm Zoom 1/250th Second f/25
