The Little Doll Girl: The Wurtherington Diary We strolled down the busy street. A lamplighter was busy lighting the street lights as the Sun would soon reach the western horizon. We wound our way back to the main gate and passed by the guards without any concern. Zeke and Cedric joined us and I told them they were heroes for rescuing us and gave them both a kiss. They flew off into the distance and returned with our bee friends. Soon we were flying over the beautiful lakes and rivers that surrounded Capira. Later, we passed over columns of soldiers and carts that lined the road leading to the Oxboar forest. I calculated that they would be there in a day.

August 25, 1883 Dear Diary, I have decided that there is no point in showing anyone my diary as no one would ever believe any of it. I've been told that a diary is personal, so I guess I'll keep it that way. I do have that map pinned to the wall given to me by Captain Flynn and signed by Alfred the Great and Captain Adams. I know that Aunt May thinks it is no more than one of my sketches and that is fine with me. I do look at it each night before I go to bed. I am always happy to see that Tammy the Merciful slayed that nasty ole dragon. There is only one thing my friends do believe, and that is that I have the cutest mongoose and opossum one could ever imagine. How they ever came to be here will be our little secret.

August 21, 1883 Dear Diary, We had quite a party. The Hoarggs were wonderful hosts and had delightful games for the children. There were colorful decorations everywhere with balloons and ribbons strung all about. There was a dunking booth and someone from every village took part in it. The Hoarggs put on a carnival show and some dressed like clowns and were simply hilarious. I think they understood that laughter was a way to win hearts and minds, and they did. In a few hours time they erased a hundred years of mistrust and prejudice. They ended the night with a beautiful fireworks display over the river accompanied with Strauss waltzes. In that few had ever handled a bow and arrow many of the Hoarggs were pulled off the war machine projects on order to teach the villagers how to shoot properly. As with any undertaking like this, although it was a ragtag unit, leaders emerged as they were needed and all kind of systems developed out of necessity. There were lieutenants, captains, and generals directing and instructing the troops in basic maneuvers. It was not uncommon to see clouds of dust rising up from the marching of soldiers. �Cover!� we heard as we walked through the forest. We all ducked behind a tree as we could see what must have been a thousand arrows headed in our direction....
