The Parish Church of Saint Hilda in Hartlepool is a Grade I listed building which was constructed in 12th Century. It sits as a prominent feature on Hartlepool Headland, where a monastery was recorded as early a 640.

Hartlepool is a seaside town in the North East of England. It was established in the 7th century and grew with the importance of shipbuilding in the North East. It was one of few towns in England that suffered from bombardment from the German fleet in the First World War, It now has a popular marina for leisure boating.

The rocks were formed millions of years ago when sea levels began to rise, the desert sands were inundated and overlain with calcium magnesium carbonates which included fossilized coral reefs that together formed the Magnesian Limestone.
