Acrylic, pencil and digital. Acrylic drip painting made in 2003 at an Abstract Art course held at Gorgie Farm in Edinburgh no less! In the style of Jackson Pollock, structured but not as detailed as something like "Blue Poles" for instance. This was my first ever attempt at drip-painting and the scans of the A3 image have been toned slightly with digital effects. Other points of reference? The Stone Roses album cover and 12" single covers by guitarist John Squire. With this technique similarities are not that hard to detect! Good Fun too. I felt the structure of the paint lent itself to a crowd scene and the pencil faces have been dropped in to complete the look. Is it a Sports occasion or protest march in this time of "Austerity"?...
