I saw this young man drinking from the Colorado River. I didn’t think I was bothering him until this moment when he looked up at me.

These two were on a leisurely stroll around the corner from my cabin in Grand Lake, Colorado.

I wanted a mixed media background with orange as the dominant color. Then I drew a skirt and I wanted her hands to be on her hips - showing confidence. She’s fierce and fancy!

The inspiration for this lady came from my niece Maria. She is confident, happy, beautiful, and very smart. I love this piece and I love my Maria. Enjoy!

She stared at me and I didn’t want to take my eyes off of her. I stopped painting her abruptly. She told me when she was done.

I painted this when my son was in college out of state. It was a reminder of his home state. It still hangs on his wall. I’’m very proud of the texture in the yellow section and how it stands out ahead of the mixed media colors.
