Lobster boats Sheringham ready yo go

Within the quaint town of Ogunquit, Maine is the harbor, Perkins Cove. The cove is a popular tourist destination and a safe harbor for fishing and pleasure boats. Besides a home for boats Perkins Cove has a large art community. Stately homes, galleries, restaurants and gift shops surround this beautiful seaport.

My Father was a fisherman. Growing up, he was one of the few who knew how to make these cane pots. He used to go out to the bush and find the right vines and bring them home. I was intrigued to see him make these. To him they were just tools to catch Lobsters. today they would be see as pieces of art. This painting is acrylic ink on Fabriano Rosapina 220 gsm acid free paper. Paper size is H25xW30cm Image size 21x25cm.

Love the colour in this coastal scene. Discovered these fishing boats and lobster traps at Murray Harbour in Prince Edward Island Canada. The traps are loaded on the wharf for 'set day' - the start of the lobster season. There are two lobster seasons on PEI. After a trip to the New England coast, I was inspired by all the lobsters, so created this mythical Monster Lobster.

A bait and fishing gear shed awaits the spring thaw. A painting inspired from memories of the east coast fishing villages of Canada.

Vibrant, flamboyant panting of the colorful homes and harbours found in the Atlantic Canada provinces and in the Maine, New England areas. I spent many vacations with my family in these beautiful quarters and there is something so heart warming about the architecture, harbours, the many seaside shops, cafes, and restaurants; and of course the beautiful ocean and all the fishing boats and seagulls. It reminds me of summer and the way it should be.

I was so inspired to draw and paint the famous Motif #1 building near sailboats in Rockport, MA. Many lobster buoys hang on the outside of the building.

I love visiting and viewing Motif Number 1 and the harbor in Rockport, MA. After another vacation in the area, I was inspired to paint Motif number 1 again. I love watching all the boats, birds and people in the harbor. So peaceful. All of the lobster buoys on the Motif number 1 really catch my eye!
