The classic Filipino food

There is always that saying Live, Laugh, Love but of course we all love LUMPIA!

Halo-halo, also spelled haluhalo, Tagalog for "mixed", is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including side dishes such as ube jam (ube halaya), sweetened kidney beans or garbanzo beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, flan, slices or portions of fruit preserves and other root crop preserves. The dessert is topped with a scoop of ube ice cream.

Good Morning Towel, a.k.a. GMT, is a utilitarian object used to wipe off sweat from someone's brow, or basically any other surface that needs wiping. It is emblazoned with a bright red "Good Morning" greeting and Chinese characters. We know you've always just assumed it translated to the same morning greeting but in case you're curious, the characters say "Zhu jun zao an," in Pinyin, read from right to left in the traditional Chinese manner. This roughly translates to "Wish you early morning," or essentially a very formal "Good morning" greeting.

Bawal umihi dito: It is an ubiquitous injunction in urban spaces, often boldly painted onto walls, and it translates to "it is forbidden to urinate here". The audience? Filipino men, many of whom continue to take the liberty of emptying their bladders in front of walls, electric posts, and yes, jeepney tires. Go to any densely-populated nooks of the metropolis and there's no denying the pungent odor of piss, which ironically juxtaposes with the aforementioned sign, as if to affirm its relevance by its violation. “Bahala na” (bah-hah-la nah) is a Filipino expression used to express an attitude of optimistic acceptance or fatalistic resignation in an uncertain or difficult situations. In the Philippines the fatalistic attitude is reflective of the Catholicism of the Filipino people, who entrust their fate in the hands of God. Many times bahala na is a saying that expresses a mentality that despite one's free will, one cannot do anything about the larger existing circumstances of their situation.
