The Reed Wren (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) is a small passerine bird that is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is also known as the Marsh Wren or the Eurasian Reed Warbler. The Reed Wren is brownish in color with a lighter underbelly and a long, thin beak. It typically lives in dense reed beds and other wetland habitats, where it feeds on insects and spiders. During the breeding season, male Reed Wrens sing a distinctive, elaborate song that can last up to 5 minutes and is used to attract a mate and defend their territory. The female Reed Wren builds a deep, cup-shaped nest made of grass and other plant materials, usually in the dense vegetation of a reed bed.
