Another of my nostalgic memorabilia art. This event took place in September 20, 1963 at the Monterey Jazz Festival, which brought this amazing jazz masters in an incredible 'quintet' to make magic that glorious night. This is the art poster that promote that event back then.

The Monterey International Pop Festival was a three-day concert event held June 16 to June 18, 1967 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. The festival is remembered for the first major American appearances by numerous major artists of the '60s. The event embodied the theme of California as a focal point for the counterculture and generally is regarded as one of the beginnings of the “Summer of Love” in 1967. Because Monterey was widely promoted and heavily attended, featured historic performances, and was the subject of a popular theatrical documentary film, it became an inspiration and a template for future music festivals for decades to come...

The festival is held annually on the 20-acre oak-studded Monterey County Fairgrounds, located at 2004 Fairground Road in Monterey. That year was my first time at a jazz concert and the first time at this amazing festival.

Monterey Park is a suburban city in the San Gabriel Valley. It is notable for it's Chinese American majority, although it has undergone changes over the years, from a predominantly Taiwanese Chinese population to a mainland Chinese and Hong Konger population. Having been under the control of three nations over the centuries, Monterey Harbor and the surrounding area retain the charm of each era, making it a unique region unlike many others. While commercial fishing put Monterey on the map, the Harbor remains a central part of the community today, as tourists flock to the area to experience its beauty and extensive wildlife. The modern wharf that stands in the harbor today wasn't constructed until the early 1900s, when the city began expanding the wharf to provide more services to the fishing fleets and the freight industry. By 1920 Monterey Harbor's wharf served as location for warehouses, nearly 20 wholesale and retail fish outlets, a marine service station, and a restaurant.

Is Crazy Bob the villain or the superhero?

The Monterey Grand Prix dates back to 1960, and is held in the fall at Laguna Seca Raceway. The event was originally a USAC Road Racing Championship race, following the success of the SCCA's Pebble Beach Road Races. After USAC's road racing series disbanded in '62, the race became a non-championship sports car race for three years. The race then joined the Can-Am schedule for 1966–1973. After the demise of Can-Am in 1974, the event shifted to Formula 5000.
