Helm Crag Above The Village Of Grasmere, Lake District Helm Crag is a fell in the English Lake District situated in the Central Fells to the north of Grasmere. Despite its low height it sits prominently at the end of a ridge, easily seen from the village. This, combined with the distinctive summit rocks which provide the alternative name 'The Lion and the Lamb', makes it one of the most recognised hills in the District. I just loved the way this tree perfectly frames the mountain or Crag. The detail in this image is amazing and really pops on a large format print, go on treat yourself. By Paul Thompson Photography

Grindelwald, a village in Switzerland’s Bernese Alps, is a popular gateway for the Jungfrau Region, with skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It's also a base for mountain-climbing ascents up the iconic north face of Eiger Mountain. Gletscherschlucht, a glacial gorge just outside Grindelwald, features paths with interpretive signage, waterfalls and striated limestone walls.

Despite a population of under 2,000 Narsaq on the South West Coast of Greenland is the 9th largest of settlements in Greenland with a population of over 1,000. Most of the colourful wooden houses and the church have been constructed since the mid 20th century, before which the population was only a few hundred. Kingswear, captured here at dusk, is a village and civil parish in the South Hams area of the English county of Devon. The village is located on the east bank of the tidal River Dart, close to the river's mouth and opposite the small town of Dartmouth.

Set at the foot of the Blüemlisalp massif, the lake is also a popular ski area, as is Sunnbüel to the southwest. In the forested Blausee Nature Park to the north, Blausee is a small, trout-filled lake fed by subterranean springs.

Zermatt, in southern Switzerland’s Valais canton, is a mountain resort renowned for skiing, climbing and hiking. The town, at an elevation of around 1,600m, lies below the iconic, pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak. Its main street, Bahnhofstrasse is lined with boutique shops, hotels and restaurants, and also has a lively après-ski scene. There are public outdoor rinks for ice-skating and curling. The Matterhorn is a mountain of the Alps, straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy.

To the southwest, the Roseg Valley has trails, forests and deer. Piz Lagalb is a mountain of the Livigno Alps, overlooking the Bernina Pass in the canton of located in Graubünden. In winter it serves as a ski area.
