The start of another April day in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. This image was taken just after sunrise from Blyth beach looking east over the North Sea which was calm and reflecting the colour in the morning sky with silhouetted images of wind turbines and the piers and lighthouse at the mouth of the River Blyth.

Tynemouth Long Sands is a beautiful stretch of beach. This 'blue flag' beach is a popular all year round tourist attraction offering mile long walks across golden sands past dunes and rock outcrops. This image was shot on a cold, sunny November morning with the impressive St George's Church in Cullercoats reflecting on the wet sand.

A beautiful golden winter sunrise off the coast of Northumberland. The image was taken on the stretch of beach between Blyth and Seaton Sluice in late October looking south towards St Mary's Island which can be spotted on the horizon together with a passing tanker. The sun is partially hidden behind cloud, but is beautifully reflected in the wet sand and the waters of the North Sea.
