Perpendicular Pins and Buttons

A pun on the word perpendicular - this ginger cat is using the vertical line as a scratching post! (In geometry, two lines that intersect at a right angle are called perpendicular lines.)

This is Point Perpendicular lookout at Currarong on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia photographed with a Canon 400D. I thought the odd shaped rock on the ledge was interesting. This is an image of a section of the fan-vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows in the King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England. The chapel, built in the Late Middle Ages in the English perpendicular gothic style, has the world's largest fan-vaulted ceiling. Surrounding the walls are 26 huge stained-glass windows. It is stunning to visit.

In the forest

We often go for a walk in the Naftel's Conservation Area, which is close to our cottage, As you enter, there is this lovely stand of coniferous trees. Their height is considerable, so on a hot summer's day, the shade is most welcoming. What drew me to make this capture was the sense of peace I felt as I set out on my walk. I hope you feel the same.
