Pismo Beach Pier in San Luis Obispo is an exposed beach break that has consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northeast. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the west northwest. The beach break provides left and right handers. Best around high tide. Sometimes crowded. Take care of rips, rocks, locals and sharks.

He was born Dimitrije Obradović in a region which is today in Romania. His family was poor, his parents died very early, and the orphan had to work as an apprentice. He passionately read every book he could get. They mainly were biographies of saints, developing in him a desire to become a monk. With his friend Nikola Putin, he traveled on foot a significant distance and joined the monastery, where he took the name Dositej. Soon, he would accept the ideas of the Enlightenment and Rationalism. Dositej is a Serbian cultural hero and the founder of modern Serbian literature.

Foamy waves roll in to Pismo Beach on a wonderful -- but very windy -- spring evening.

One of my goals on my California road trip was to watch the sun set over the ocean each day, since that's something that you can't see on the east coast of Australia. So far, I'm 2 for 2 -- last night we watched it set at Huntington Beach, and tonight we watched it set the ocean alight just to the left of the mountains in this shot. It was gorgeous, but surprisingly cold -- especially with the strong winds that seemed intent on pushing us around the beach! Luckily my brother didn't get too frustrated with me and stuck around (while freezing) so I could grab this shot just after sunset.
