Inspiration taken from Canadian song "Land of the Silver Birch" Return once more!

I'd been noticing just how colourful and attractive the outlines of silver birch trees were on the terrain below by the lake and thought that I'd like a rustic capture of the tree line above, caught in mist clinging to the hilly surrounds... A patchwork of tree colour revealed itself nicely through vintage glass. Slight adjustment in post processing teased out the texture and colour of this panoramic setting of silver birches.

An ancient woodland, sees elderly silver birch trees, matured. This simple setting of trees on established patch of land, caught my eye. Not thinking much about Christmas, working in post it had that accent of tones which made me reminisce of the old christmas cards that we often used to see... and so I set to, to make a photographic similar... all its missing is the glitter! Edited in photos and then lightroom. Shot using Sony A7 with Carl Zeiss Pancolor f/1.8

Experimenting with old vintage lenses and on a very misty morning... I took this capture and worked in post using lightroom and photoshop. I left the element of grain in the photograph...

Watercolour on 140 lb. Arches cold press paper. I know it is a bit early for winter but for some in Canada (Alberta in particular) heavy snow has already fallen. I hope we can escape the icy fingers of winter for a while yet, here in Toronto. Silver birch, however, do look lovely in snow.
