A portion of the ceiling in the Sistine Chaple. No photos allowed....flash photography will damage the frescos. It did not deter the many tourist who ingored the plea of the vatican guards. I took mine using available light and the high ISO of this great camera. For my sins.....mea culpa, mea culpa. Nikon D7000 18-200mm VR Lens.

The Sistine Madonna, also called the Madonna di San Sisto, is an oil painting by the Italian artist Raphael.

Then I painted other faces trying to reproduce that style, and the characteristics that in my opinion distinguish it: the intense expression of the faces, the light and half transparent colors as if the aim was to let emerge the underlying drawing, the profile marked by a darker line, the background of a mostly uniform sky. The Santuario de Guadalupe (The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe) in Santa Fe, established in the 1770's, is the oldest standing shrine in the United States. It was built in honor of our Lady of Guadalupe and is an enduring landmark, commemorating the apparitions of Mary in 1531 to the Aztec peasant Juan Diego of Tepeyac, Mexico.
