Impressions of a Sufi dance, in my trademark "minifu" icon style. Done after attending a very moving Dhikr ceremony.

Demonstrating brotherly ties by embracing and simultaneously kissing each others hands is an expression of mutual love and respect . “Salam aleikum,”(Peace be upon you) an Islamic expression, use to express greeting, usually follows this beautiful gesture. Hand-kissing is a gesture indicating courtesy, politeness, respect, admiration or even devotion by one person toward another. The two men in this Brotherly Greeting represent students of two different Sufi orders, perhaps the Darqawi and the Mevlevi orders, coming together and honoring each other with this beautiful embrace.
