Nonetheless, I keep looking at it and feeling increasingly unhappy with the technical side of it; I see flaws in it every time I look, and often wished I'd been more skilled at Photoshop when I did it. I've always wanted the eye to be more "watery" and the fish to look more like it was actually *in* the eye, not just stuck on top of it. I also felt the original fish was a tad angular as a result of my lacking blending skill...

It's been too long since I did macro photography! I've been focusing on portraiture since getting my DSLR two years ago and have not yet managed to get my hands on a macro lens. Yesterday I got my little Powershot out for a bit of exercise though, and found I still love macro just as much as I ever did! :) This is a macro shot of a tiny water droplet (about 1mm across) on a flower petal. One of my favourite things to do involving a camera is to take a bunch of flowers, spray it with a water spray bottle and spend ages taking macro shots of all the little water droplets and the sights they reveal. I love it when a water droplet shows a refraction of the background that makes it look almost solid, as in this case, like a multi coloured marble.
