My take of one of the best all time animation movies, a timeless classic, The Last Unicorn

I can’t begin to count how many times I must have checked out the same worn out vhs of The Last Unicorn as a kid. I love the nostalgia and know that this was one of my major inspirations to do illustration for life.

The last unicorn in her forest, under the moonlight. A childhood favorite. This movie will always be magical and beautiful to me.

In the shadow of the forest, though she may be old and worn, they will stare unbelieving, at the LAST UNICORN. Throw back to the 1982 animated film adaptation of Peter S. Beagle's, The Last Unicorn.

I love unicorns, but like, earnest unicorns, none of this pooping-rainbows nonsense. I want my unicorns majestic and proud, riding around on rainbows and leaving stars in their wake. Yes I know it's a little silly, but I'm not going to hide behind irony so that I can be an adult in a unicorn shirt. I'm just going to wear the damn unicorn shirt.

A painting idea I've been kicking around for years as an homage to my favorite movie growing up. The original is done with watercolors and acrylics on wood panel.

She-Ra is a fictional superheroine in the 1985 Filmation series She-Ra: Princess of Power and its 2018 reboot She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. A series of toys under her name was produced by Mattel. In the 1980s series, She-Ra was intended to extend the appeal of the Masters of the Universe setting by being of interest to young girls in the same way that He-Man appealed to young boys. Filmation writers Larry DiTillio and J. Michael Straczynski created the backstory for the property.She-Ra was introduced in the movie The Secret of the Sword as Force Captain Adora of the Horde ruling Etheria, but turned out to be Princess Adora, the long-lost twin sister of He-Man, Prince Adam

She is the last of her kind. He is determined to add her to his collection. Original art based on an iconic moment.
