Do you ever feel like you have been numbed by modern life? - The constant grind, the routine, the predatory marketing and the constant search for distraction. Have you arrived to the point where you no longer care? You are never going to be cool, but you can be you.

For corporations and governments there is nothing more incendiary than someone pausing to collect their thoughts. The revolution will not be distracted. Put up a warning sign to say that you aren’t to be trifled with. "Know thyself", as Socrates said, in this digital surveillance world is more vital now than ever.

There are words and phrases that we see and hear all of the time; strangely meaningless. Like forms with mysteriously blank pages; like the brand of corporations that cover our clothes and accessories. Hocking branded products seems to be what we are born to do. Is that right?

Ever since reading Naomi Klein's No Logo book exposing the dark arts of marketing, I have been fascinated about the 'Emperor's no clothes' myth of marketing, and it's importance in modern capitalist society. Only those who pay think they see it, ironically, the coolest don't need it.

What were Goethe's final words? - "More Light!" What would be mine? - "More Joy!" But why need they be my final words? I need more joy in my life now! So like Gandhi said, "Wear the T-shirt you want to be in the world" Right? Am I righhhht?

This is the idler; walking the other way. It's that advert years ago…where a bloke in a suit is walking across the Millennium Bridge to St. Pauls/City of London. He stops to look right and left; everyone looks like him. He thinks, "No - I'm different!" and turns to walk the other way. Only, in the end, the advert is selling you mobile phones, phones which we all buy. Now look at that bridge in 2022...

You have to have a cool logo. Of course you do. Everyone has to have a cool logo. It's the most important thing there is. Doesn't really matter which cool logo, just so long as it's a cool cool logo. So, uh... insert one here. :-P

Isn't this what it's all about? All those branded clothes, what are they saying with their logos? We have a suspicion that all they're saying is "Look at me! I wear a cool brand!" So why not cut out the actual brand name and skip straight to the chase? Whether you want to out-cool your mates, or just take a satirical swipe at the whole business, our original t-shirt is the one to wear... if you dare!
