Force was the first commercially successful wheat flake breakfast cereal. Prior to this, the only successful wheat-based cereal products had been Shredded Wheat and the hot semolina cereal, Cream of Wheat. The product was cheap to produce and kept well on store shelves.

Bardahl Oil Company was founded in 1939 by Ole Bardahl (January 28, 1902 – August 11, 1989), a Norwegian immigrant to the United States.

The Thomas’ soap manufacturing company was established in1823 in Bristol, but with competition from Lever Brothers and ‘Sunlight Soap’, in 1898 the company tried to make similar olive oil soap under the name ‘Puritan Soap’ They continued to sell ‘Puritan’ Soap until 1953 when the factory announced their closing statement and ceased to produce soap in 1954.

Charles Pratt and Company was an oil company that was formed in 1867 by Charles Pratt and Henry H. Rogers in Brooklyn, New York. It became part of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil organization in 1874.
