Stamford General Store 1910 Posters and Art Prints
South Dakota Posters and Art Prints
designed and sold by JCD666
There wasn't a whole lot in Stamford, South Dakota back in the early 1900s, and to be honest, there isn't a whole lot there today, but that didn't stop German immigrant R.A. Bierstadt from opening a general store along what was then a stretch of the U.S. 16 highway. Offering the typical general store fare along with feed and seed goods, Bierstadt proved everyone wrong as farmers and ranchers found a trip to Stamford was a whole lot more convenient and a better use of their time than traveling into Rapid City or Sioux Falls.
