Luckenbach Texas General Store and Saloon by Debra Martz Luckenbach, Texas is an unincorporated community just a 10 mile drive from the popular tourist town of Fredericksburg (which originated as a German community) in the Texas Hill Country. Luckenbach is known as a great venue for country music. It consists of 9.1 acres situated between 2 creeks. Its oldest building is a combination country general store and a saloon which opened in 1849. It is stated that the first name was Grape Creek but more than likely Gap Creek which comes from German ("lucken" meaning gap and "bach" meaning stream). Inspired by the old west!

Harlow was a small community just west of State Highway 34 about four miles south of Greenville in central Hunt County, Texas. The settlement began in the late 1800s by the Harlow family and had just one business, the Harlow General Store, which opened in 1890. The store supplied the small population of the town and those passing through along the highway, and also was an outlet for the Harlow family's crops. The town itself was shown on county highway maps beginning in the '30s, and by the '80s, the community all but disappeared, both from maps and from the northeastern Texas landscape.

Terni’s General Store was founded in 1919 by Italian immigrant, Leopoldo Terni, in the rural village of Millerton in Dutchess County, New York. The shop on the corner of Main Street quickly became a town gathering place where you could get the latest news, some penny candy, or just whittle away the day at the counter. During its 101-year run, Terni's was a multi-generational institution and a pillar of the community that won't be easily replaced.

The name "Hudson" came from Joseph L. Hudson, a Detroit department store entrepreneur and founder of Hudson's department store, who provided the necessary capital and gave permission for the company to be named after him. A total of eight Detroit businessmen formed the company on February 20, 1909, to produce an automobile which would sell for less than US$1,000 (equivalent to approximately $26,656 in today's funds). One of the chief "car men" and organizer of the company was Roy D. Chapin, Sr., a young executive who had worked with Ransom E. Olds. (Chapin's son, Roy Jr., would later be president of Hudson-Nash descendant American Motors Corp. in the 1960s).

Price Club was a warehouse store chain, founded by Sol Price in San Diego, California. Price devised the Price Club concept in 1975 after being forced out of FedMart, another retail chain he founded. Price and a few of his friends put up $2.5 million in capital to open the first Price Club on July 12, 1976, in San Diego. Price Club would eventually merge with one of its competitors and the combined company would go on to become the global leader in the wholesale shopping club space with more than 800 warehouses worldwide as of 2021.
