FUN FOOD FACT - Vegetarian Fed Hens = Animal Cruelty Posters and Art Prints

Whenever I see a package of eggs that proudly declare, "ALL-VEGETARIAN FED HENS," I try to steer clear. One does not have to be a chicken farmer to know that our adorable feathered friends are ominivores, which mean they pretty much eat anything. In nature, they sure as heck wouldn't be chowing down on the processed grains thatare often fed to them. Chickens are happiest and healthiest when they are able to dineon bugs and slugs and worms, as they would if they were truly cage-free (Another food packaging lie.)
