Brixham is a small fishing town in the county of Devon, in the south-west of England. Brixham is at the southern end of Torbay, across the bay from Torquay, and is a fishing port.

I painted this scene in Brixham Devon where I live, showing the sailing trawler 'Pilgrim ' approaching Brixham Breakwater and lighthouse on a sunny day. At the end of the Breakwater fishermen try their luck with rod and line and a young woman takes a photo looking accross to Churston Cove. Brixham Breakwater Lighthouse is located at the end of the Victoria Breakwater. The structure stretches for half a mile offshore. It’s a pleasant walk along the length, and from the far end you gain a very different perspective of the harbour and town. The Breakwater is a great spot for fishing – it is possible to fish both the seaward side and into the harbour, meaning you might catch wrasse, conger eels, mackerel, garfish, bass, pollack or mullet. ...

I live in Brixham and I am lucky to have beautiful countryside of Devon around me and 5 minutes away the fishing port of Brixham. The Breakwater is a favourite place for fishermen to try their luck. The Breakwater has a famous Victorian lighthouse at the end . It's half a mile long going out into Torbay and a favourite place for locals and tourist to walk and take on the sea air, occasionally seeing the resident seals. Enjoy. Mac ? ? ? A fishing boat is coming back from a nights fishing, and other fishermen with rods try their luck at catching fish on the edge of the Breakwater . Painted on canvas stuck to board

Looking out to sea from the famous 'Agatha Christie Mile'; a coastal footpath that retraces the steps, often trodden by Agatha Christie, on the English Riviera - Torquay. One of the famous Brixham Trawlers with it's distinctive red sails is framed by the coastal rocks.

DescriptionJet was a beloved Labrador owned by our good friends and neighbours Robin and Anne-Marie Hann. Jet was put to sleep because of a serious illness this year 2033 and is sadly missed, so I painted his portrait in the South Fort of Berry Head, Brixham. Somewhere he loved to walk and run. He had a habbit of finding the biggest stone he could get in his mouth the carrying around on his walk. He will always be remembered and now imortalused in oil. The original will be given to Robin on his 80th birthday in July.

The Golden Hind, Brixham Harbour The Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour, is one of only two full sized replicas in the world of 16th century explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake's famous ship. Golden Hind was a galleon captained by Francis Drake in his circumnavigation of the world between 1577 and 1580. She was originally known as Pelican, but Drake renamed her mid-voyage in 1578, in honour of his patron, Sir Christopher Hatton, whose crest was a golden hind. I painted Discovery because of its historic significance to Scott of The Antarctic, It shows Discovery on the banks of The River Thames, London, with St Pauls Cathedral and Blackfriers Bridge in the background. It's sunrise and the sky is yellow turning to blue on a summers day. The plain trees on the Embankment are in full bloom. About the history of the ship Discovery. Purchased by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1905 and converted for use as a merchant. Laid up from 1912 - 1915 during WWI. From 1915 - 1920 traded under charter in European waters from Archangel in Arctic Russia to the Black Sea. She was loaned in 1916 to the British Government to rescue Shackleton's party marooned on Elephant Island, but they were rescued before she ar...

I was a police diver and a sports diver for many years. From all the Underwater video I took I produced enough paintings to have an Underwater Exhibition. This was the second painting I did of Ras Mohamed, but 4 times the size of the previous one 6 feet by 4 feet.

The Napoli had been damaged in a storm in 2007 and was abandoned by its crew, it was then taken in tow to take it to portland for repair, but the weather got worse and it was decided to Beach her in the waters off Branscombe. The beaching location was at Branscombe around 1 mile (1.6 km) off the Devon coast, near the coastal town of Sidmouth.12 This area of the coastline where MSC Napoli was beached is a part of Britain's first natural World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast. In winter Lyme Bay hosts large numbers of wintering sea birds whilst the sea bed was habitat for endangered species such as the pink sea fan and sunset cup coral. DescriptionPLA Ship Samson In Victoria Dock London. This painting was done such a long time ago I forgot about it until a man contacted me and said he was in possession of it. I ask him to send an image of it and it brought back memories of when I painted many vessels in the Docklands of London. Now I can share it with you.

scriptionThis is the second painting I have completed of Boy Leslie, I just love the colour of the hull and the red sails, and the way she cuts through the water, thank goodness someone went to the trouble to preserve her. BOY LESLIE was built in 1911 at Galmpton as a fishing trawler and had a considerable history in the UK before being sold to Norway in 1939. She was sailed first as a BM312 out of Brixham and later Plymouth as L0392 when she was bought by the Hewitt family, fishermen of over two centuries' standing who in their heyday operated a fleet of 220 vessels. The fleet was called 'The Short Blue Fleet', after the square, dark blue flag that flew from the mast of each vessel. In 1935, BOY LESLIE was part of the Silver Jubilee...
