Pew Tor is a magnificant tor that sits high on Whitchurch Common,east of Tavistock, and can be seen from all angles on this part of the moor. The summit consists of three large granite stacks and smaller surrounding stacks. The views are great all around, especially into the Walkham Valley and across to the old railway line at Kings Tor.

Walking on Dartmoor one Spring a few years ago I was surprised to find an open valley filled with bluebells down to the stream that ran through it. With a granite tor in the background I took this view, and recreated it in oil on board (18 inches x 14 inches). One day I will return to spend a bit more time in this magical, tranquil location. I'd give a precise location, but don't want hordes of people trampling this delicate landscape.

Two Bridges is an isolated location in the heart of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England. It is situated around 2.5 km (1.6 mi) north east of Princetown on the old turnpike road which was built across Dartmoor in the late 18th century (now known as the B3212).

The Two Moors Way is a long-distance path that runs from Ivybridge in South Devon to Lynmouth on the coast of North Devon, crossing parts of both Dartmoor and Exmoor (and passing into Somerset) along the way. The total length of the trail is about 103 miles (166 km), and some sections are difficult in poor weather.

Postbridge is situated next to the East Dart river, one of two main tributaries of the River Dart. It is best known for a fine example of an ancient clapper bridge over the river.

First recorded in the 14th century, the bridge is believed to have been built in the 13th century to enable pack horses to cross the river, carrying tin to the stannary town of Tavistock. This view comes from a trip I did a few years back, getting off the train at Ivybridge for a walk over Dartmoor and a wildcamp, before walking out the next morning to Totnes. It was early on a May morning when I came to this spot, marked by a fingerpost sign that named it Gingaford. Its looking South over the farmland of the South Hams area of Devon. I've painted it in oil on a 20x8 inch board, using mainly mauve, naples yellow,hooker green and titanium white, with small amounts of vandyke brown, cobalt blue and yellow green added to vary the colours.

The river dart at dartmeet dartmoor rushing over the boulders and stones. Dartmeet is where the west dart and east dart join together hence the name of the place it is a beautiful place to walk.
