An Australian native flower found at Lawson the other day. Epacris pulchella or Wallum Heath. Epacris....from Greek, epi, upon and acris, a summit, referring to the altitude where some species occur pulchella..... From Latin pulchellus, pretty or beautiful, referring to the appearance of the plant. Found in heath and open forests on the coast and adjacent ranges of New South Wales and south-east Queensland. It doesn't have a showy display but I liked this composition with the small branch above. Canon 5D MkIII with Tamron macro lens. Wildflowers In A Field, Mount Rainier National Park

Breaking the rules, because the center is all blur and the only focus is at the edges... but I like it, anyway. I love the big blurry circle that is the backside of the central daisy. : ) Finally another (very late) work to add to my 52 week challenge. This is number 27. Life has been getting in the way of my photography lately, but hopefully not forever.

I'm not sure what these flowers are but I was really drawn to their orangey-red colour. The shallow depth of field here isolates the flowers against the green grass beyond. The image was captured on the shores of Blea Tarn, a small mountain lake in the Lake District National Park in the United Kingdom. It's now late in the summer, but the Sun still brings warmth to this day in an idyllic place in the mountains.
