This Dogs of War illustration features the Russian KV2. It was a massive tank in its day. A huge 152mm howitzer was mounted in a battle ship style turret. It was slow, top heavy and cumbersome but almost impervious to attack. These dogs appear to run down a locals bicycle. They must have not been looking where they were going!

The tiger 2, king tiger or more correctly in German the Konigstiger which translates to royal tiger was the biggest baddest tank of ww2. Armour that never failed during a frontal assault and a gun capable of destroying any other known opponent at long range. This one is firing off a shot and upsetting a number of the crew who may not have been expecting it.

Probably and depending on who you ask the Panther tank could be considered the best tank of the war. The dogs of war are taking a break on this one, Everyone has to do the laundry at some point!

The 5th addition to the series and those pesky dogs of war are at it again this time in a German made Jagdpanther. This is a ww2 tank destroyer specifically designed to engage and destroy other armored vehicles. It doesn’t have a turret so that it can instead posses stronger armor and a bigger gun.

The Churchill tank was Great Britain's entry level heavy tank at the beginning of WW2. it was designed before the war and draws heavily on what was learned about tank warfare during WW1. Think Armour, flat sides and high tracks that could cross trenches was the doctrine at the time and so such the Churchill suffered from having no angled faces capable of deflecting enemy fire. Even so it was a good vehicle and performed admirably for its crews.

It's time for Japanese dogs to enter the war with this AM6 Zero Fighter. The most famous of all the Japanese aircraft to fly during the war years.

To go with my ww2 RAF pilot I've created a dogs of war Luftwaffe pilot. I've used the emblems of the German air force during WW2 and pictured a dog that resembles the Doberman Pinscher that is a breed of dog developed in the late 1800s in Germany. Next up will be an American P51 'driver'

The Dogs of Wars are out racing across the country side in the M18 Hellcat. An American made light Tank with a powerful gun that was capable of the tank equivalent of the drive by shooting. This was the fastest tank on the block and Its speed was its best defense as it didn’t have the armour to take return fire from its heavier German opponents. Shoot then run, that was the way of this ambush predator.

My first Dogs of War comic is here! This one concerns the Germans and their bad habit of over confidence and over engineering everything. German tanks were high spec and high quality but many broke down before they even made it into the fight.

The Hawker Typhoon in its day was one of the fastest planes in the air. When the Spitfires couldn't keep up, these were sent out. This plane bares the familiar invasion stripes that were originally applied pre-invasion to Typhoons to ensure they were not mistaken for FW190s as they had a similar profile.

This time around the British are coming! Here we have the late war Comet tank once again crewed by those pesky dogs of war. Keeping with British tradition 2 of them even have a brew on the go. Well done dogs!

The Russian made T34 was one of the best, most rugged and practical tanks of ww2. This fighting vehicle was innovative and easy to mass produce. Although not the best tank of the war, in great numbers it was an effective weapon and one of the best fielded by the Soviet Union. This one is crewed by those pesky dogs of war and is an up-gunned version of the original T34 design. The T34/85

part 2 of my dogs of war illustrations. This time it's a Sherman tank with a crew full of fuzzy hounds. The Sherman was a medium tank manufactured in America and fielded by the allies in WW2. This version is a firefly which is a British modification sporting a different turret and a 17 pounder gun that was more capable of knocking out a heavy German tank like the Tiger than the standard Sherman armourment.

The next installment of the dogs of war is the Spitfire. This is a late war version with a griffon rather than a Merlin engine, its also longer and wider than the earlier models. The pilot in this one is enjoying a rare rest between sorties to have tea with his lady love.

The weather is to bad to fly so the Dogs of War have decided to have a snowball fight instead. With a robin perched on the tail and snow all around it almost feels festive. This scene features one of the most advanced Russian fighter aircraft of WW2 the Yak 3.

The fearsome Red Baron, Manfred Von Richthofen has a relaxing wine and cheese break next to his stunning Fokker Dr.1 triplane during ww1. For some reason I thought he might be a blue cheese man, I mean dog! lol.

The Percival Mew Gull was a British racing aircraft of the 1930s and considered by some to be "the Holy Grail of British air racing". Although not fighting aircraft the development of air racers helped make planes faster and more maneuverable and influenced the development of military aviation as well as taught pilots skills they would need in times of conflict.

The He 162 officially called the Sparrow or Spatz in German was a single seat Jet fighter fielded by the German Luftwaffe at the end of the second world war. Apart from rocket fighters like the Me 163 this was the fastest conventional aircraft in the air at the time topping out at 562mph at 20,000ft. Unfortunately however for its pilots it was unreliable and very difficult to fly.

In the pack, the dogs of war fight like hell!
