Another entry in my Historical Fatties series, she’s almost as cute as you are. You’re cuter, though. No background because sometimes simple is nice.

Yeah! I’ve always described women’s skirts from the mid 17th century as “huggable.” Just so much fabric, so much floof. There have been fat people all throughout human history, and I’m having fun drawing them. Don’t you want such a cool chick on your T-shirt or tote bag? Maybe you aren’t into bright colored clashing backgrounds. Maybe you just want a rad babe on your shirt, floating free in space. If that’s you, then hey this design is too.

Is she a flapper? I dunno! Maybe. She’s wearing a snazzy dress anyway, peak of fashion for 1923-ish. Big hat, big belt, big heart. And some sweet kidskin gloves. I love 1920s silhouettes on fat figures, because all the fashion plates and famous figures from the era were very slim. But there were fat people, and some of them were really fashionable because why wouldn’t they be? Get your Gatsby on with this design. No background, for those less is more type friends.

1916. Paul Poiret was claiming to free the female form from the corset (spoiler— he didn’t) and lampshade skirts were a thing. The late teens were an excellent time for women’s fashion in general. So much skirt, so many layers. So fun. No background, for those “less is more” friends.
