Fujin '風神' is Japanese god of the wind, and Raijin '雷神' is Japanese god of lightning, thunder and storms in the Shinto religion and mythology, both are among the eldest Shinto gods. Fujin is often portrayed as a terrifying demon-looking spirit , resembling a red headed green-skinned humanoid wearing a leopard skin, carrying a large bag of winds on his shoulders; and Raijin is typically depicted as a demon-looking spirit beating drums to create thunder, usually with the symbol tomoe drawn on the drums. In Japanese art, Fujin and Raijin are often depicted together. The kanji behind Fujin and Raijin is '風' meaning wind, and '雷' meaning thunder; at the back is a three-fold tomoe symbol that often used as kamon or symbol by Shinto Shrine.

Fujin, the brother of Raijin, was born from the dying corpse of Izanagi. Raijin and Fujin often battle for the supremacy of the sky, many believing that a storm is the two battling for superiority. Fujin is depicted as an Oni, however is not one, and is instead a divine god. Fujin is easily noticable by the bag of winds he carries with him to either fly, or make the winds that circle the Earth.

Raijin (雷神, lit. "Thunder God"), also known as Kaminari-sama (雷様), Raiden-sama (雷電様), Narukami (鳴る神) and Mouse (雷公), is a god of lightning, thunder and storms in Japanese mythology and the Shinto religion. The name 'Raijin' is derived from the Japanese words kaminari (雷, meaning "thunder"; on-reading rai) and kami (神, meaning "god"; on-reading shin or jin). Raijin is typically depicted with fierce and aggressive facial expressions, standing atop a cloud, and is shown beating on drums. The drums are often shown to have the symbol tomoe drawn on them. Raijin is often depicted as a protector or warrior figure within Japanese temples and shrines.
