Looking over the town square to the monastery at Alcobaça in Portugal. This was the first Gothic building to be constructed in the country. It was founded by King Alfonso Henriques in 1147 as a church and became a Cistercian monastery in 1153. It was finally consecrated in 1262. The monks here dedicated their lives to meditation and writing illuminated manuscripts including a history of Portugal. This fine building occupies one side of the town's wide and elegant plaza. The Bomaderry Presbyterian Church in Meroo Street, Bomaderry.

Tintern Abbey was founded in 1131 on the west bank of the River Wye, just inside Wales. The Cistercian monks who lived at the Abbey followed the strcit Rule of St. Benedict. The abbey was mostly rebuilt during the 13th century, and consecrated in 1301. The abbey was dissolved in 1536, and then left to decay. In 1901 the abbey was bought by the crown and repaired. Monnow Bridge in Monmouth, Wales, was completed in about 1270 and is the only remaining medieval fortified bridge in Britain with a standing gate tower. It crosses the River Monnow and is now pedestrianized, a scheduled ancient monument, and a Grade I listed building. Both the bridge and the gatehouse were comprehensively repaired in the 1770s, and the building ceased to be used as a dwelling in the early 1800s, after which the pedestrian access was made through the turrets. Old City Hall is one of Toronto's most prominent structures and is designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1984. It is located right downtown and was home to city council from 1899 to 1966. It also was one of the largest buildings in Toronto and the largest civic building in North America upon its completion in 1899. This is a night shot of the famous Notre Dame de Paris. The Cathedral is a historic Catholic cathedral situated on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. It is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. This very elegant town hall sits in the centre of the town of Abingdon-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, England. The town was once in Berkshire and until 1867 was the County Town. The town hall, now a Grade 1 listed building was constructed between 1678 and 1682. It was designed to house the county courtroom above a sheltered market space. Both the master mason, Christopher Kempster and the clerk of works, John Scarborough were associates of Sir Christopher Wren whose influence can be seen. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200

Vines on The Pittock Mansion is an art print I created using a soft watercolor technique. The subject matter is the vines, flowers and bushes on part of the mansion which is a French Renaissance-style château in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon. The mansion was originally built in 1914 as a private home for London-born publisher Henry Pittock and his wife.
